What a fun night!

My best friend Staci and I did something tonight, that neither one of us have done before - we went to an auction! It was SO much fun. Our husbands went to a football coaching thing tonight (well really all weekend) so we decided that this would be something fun we could do together.

The auction was at our church and all the proceeds went towards two families that we support. So of course we had to bid on things because it went to a good cause! :) The first part was the silent auction. People were getting quite competitive. I won a scrap book album and a gift certificate and Staci won some Cinnamon rolls and a baby sweater/hat! Now Stac, are you trying to tell us something?? Just kidding, Nate!

Now the live auction was where the fun really came in. Staci & I decided that we were going to try to go in together to get a trip. There was a week in Florida and a long weekend at Crystal Mountain and a couple of other over night deals as well. We decided that we wouldn't go over $700, so that it would only cost us $350 each. So of course the Florida trip blew by us and went for $1200. Well then the Crystal Mountain package came up and we were prepared to get competitive. We were so nervous and giggly every time we raised our paddle. Everyone said we looked so hysterical We got right in there with the bidding and were going strong, until the Auctioneer said that it was available in the winter as well. Then the price skyrocketed because a lot of people must have wanted it for skiing. We just wanted it sometime in the summer as a get away. So needless to say we lost it and were so bummed.

After all the bidding was said and done they announced that the people who offered their rental home at Crystal Mountain wanted to offer a second weekend in the summer. So of course we got our little paddle ready to go. We were all nervous again, and feeling nauseous and excited all at the same time. What would our husbands think about us spending all this money when they weren't even there? Oh well, we knew they would love it. Staci was so excited when she raised her paddle on the winning bid that she hit herself in the eye! We won the rental house for $500. We also got a 3rd couple to go in so really we are only paying $166/couple. What a steal! I can't wait to go on vacation with the Mihalek's and Marshall's!!!!

Oh it was so much fun watching you two bid then giggle and giggle then bid. The auctioneer even gave you a hard time about stop giggling so you could bid.

Summer here we come! We can't wait and are so excited to be included. You already know we are really good babysitters. Your husbands can golf - you two girls can shop - Phil and I can play with two adorable girls! Oh I'm sure it will be filled with marriage mentoring moments also...ha ha

Love, Myra
