This week is Coast Guard Festival in our lovely little town and Tuesday was Kid's Day. Kid's Day is basically a free day with crafts, face painting, blow up games and free stuff. It was fun, but I think it will be more fun when the kids are a little older. Staci was brave enough to venture out with me. Thanks again, Stac for going with me.
I attempted to make a memory box. Let's just say my attempt was P-A-T-H-E-T-I-C. My nails went in crooked and I finally was so frustrated that I brought it home for Rich to complete. At least we had a good laugh over it, and Grace is too young to care. She had fun playing with the glue.
Grace's favorite part of the day was getting her face painted. The lady and I had to hold her head because she kept trying to see it. Eventually she held still and actually let the paint dry.
Joy tried so hard to wait patiently. I didn't even dare to try to get her face painted. That would have been one big mess. She won't even hold still for me to put pig tails in her hair.
The finished product! The butterfly lasted for about 4 hours and then had sweat/rubbed off. We had a great time and are looking forward to going to the parade and fireworks on Saturday. Well the girls will be at my parents for the fireworks, but Rich & I are looking forward to the fireworks. Also, Rich's brother Chris is in town so that has been a lot of fun. More pictures and updates to come throughout the week!

I had a great time at Kid's Day! You know I love anything that involves spending time with Grace and Joy, oh and you too!
We can't wait for the parade and fireworks! I'm going tonight really late to scope out some places. They changed the temperature a bit so it should be a little bit cooler!
Love you guys!
Hey Grace, that is such a pretty butterfly on your cheek. What a fun day for you and Joy. And Darcie, I'm sorry, but you may be related to your Grandma when it comes to 'arts and craft' time. At any rate, I run for the door...I just can't seem to do that stuff. I end up with some 'lop-sided' whatever, when every one else has something cute.
Glad for your good day of fun, Kid's day sounds like the best.
Love from GGMA & GGPA Frandsen
