Happy 1st Birthday Joy!!!

Our sweet baby Joy Joy turned 1 yesterday! As Rich and I were reflecting on the day we both kept saying, we can't believe that she is 1. Last year was a year of changes for our family, so the year just flew by.
Grandpa Jackson sent this cute little bear to Joy in the mail. She absolutely loved it and kept hugging him, well until Grace stole it of course.

Every Saturday morning we have pancakes, so this Saturday was no different. Here Joy is enjoying her birthday breakfast, and drinking milk out of her big girl cup.

We couldn't get a good family picture. The birthday girl didn't want to smile.

But of course when her Grandpa held her she stopped crying...go figure.

Gracie with Mommy enjoying the party. Grace had a hard time realizing that the party was not for her. She kept saying it was her birthday. We would then say no it is Joy Joy's birthday. To that Grace would say "My birthday coming up. I be 3." Little does she realize that we have 7 other people in our family who have a birthday before hers in April. Poor little girl. She also thinks that Santa will be coming again soon. Oh to have no concept of time...

Joy hanging out on Staci's lap.

And now she is trying to steal food from Staci. Thanks Staci for always feeding our kids and sharing food with them. You're the best!

Joy and her "boyfriend" Trace. Joy & Trace are 9 days apart, but she has about 3 inches and 5 pounds on Trace. They are so cute together! Oh and Trace's parents are great as well.

Oh no an upside Gracie!

The birthday girl sitting so nicely next to her presents. In fact, she sat so nicely next to her presents that I had to open every one of the for her. She pulled on the paper on two of them, but didn't really do to much. Grace of course wanted to help. Maybe by next year Joy will want to actually open her presents. Thanks to everyone for their wonderful presents for Joy. Your generosity really touched Rich & me.

Here I am modeling Joy's lovely floor mat. I figured I should smile with the present after going to all the work of opening them all.

Joy rolling around in the "aftermath" of her presents with Uncle Mark.

Mmmmm.... cup cake. This was not her first time having cake. She still smiled and loved it just like the first time she had cake.

What a cute messy face!

Another cute messy face! I made her sit on the kitchen floor to enjoy her cupcake. What a mess!!

When we got home there was a package in the mail from Uncle C - they were some belated Christmas gifts. He sent Grace a Dora DVD so needless to say she was THRILLED. She wanted to watch it immediately. Rich & I are also THRILLED about this DVD, because now we don't have to hear the same 2 Dora songs over and over and over and over (you get the point) again.

All in all, we had a wonderful day celebrating Joy's birthday. Thanks to everyone who came and celebrated her day with us in person. For those of you who couldn't be there know that you were missed!

Thank you Rich and Darcie for having us at Joy's party. Your family always makes us feel such a part of your family! We love you guys! (Jaime loved celebrating with you too!)

Joy is such a sweetheart! She is so well behaved and such a "joy" to be around. I'll share my food with her any day! We can't wait to see her explore new things this year as she discovers more of the world around her!

Grace is a silly girl! She is at an age where everything is about her! Hey, does that ever change? I think I'm still there! :)
She was so funny thinking that it was her birthday. Good luck with all of the birthdays to come!

You are a beautiful family. We Love You. The girls are so cute and wish we could have come. Joy was really enjoying her day. Grace was too even if she couldn't quite understand why it wasn't hers. Your grandpa hasn't been feeling to good. He slept most of today. Hugs and Kisses to all of you. Love Grandma J.

We've been anxiously awaiting the pictures of Joy's Birthday, and Grace's just plain enjoying Birthdays period. What beautiful girls, what a blessing from God, what a wonderful family He has made. We thank Him each day for all of you, and ask His blessing on every one. And of course, Joy would smile when Grandpa Duane held her...he is GREAT, the GREATEST! Just don't tell him his MIL said that. Our love to all of you, and a special hug for the Birthday Girl, JOY. GGMA & GGPA F.
