1 Year Check-up

We took Joy to the doctor yesterday for her 1 year check-up. She weighed in at 24 lbs. (90th percentile) and 30 1/4" tall (85th percentile.) They said everything looked great and that she is growing and progressing well. She still continues to be our big Joy Joy!

She almost exclusively walks now, unless she's really tired and crabby, and then she feels that she must crawl.

She suffered her first injury while at the doctors yesterday. She was walking around the exam room with her cup, tripped and fell and the cup cut her right next to her eye. Thankfully it didn't do anything to her eyeball. So of course, Rich & I felt like great parents. Our child has never hurt herself, and it just happens to take place at the doctors. Oh well - I guess if it would have been serious there would have been no better place to be. And to make matters worse, she had to get 3 shots after the eye injury, so needless to say she was NOT a happy camper and thankfully fell asleep half way home.

She is fine now, but still has a little cut next to her eye.

Hugs and Kisses for 'Big Girl' Joy. If you could take three shots without a complete Blow-Out, then we say you are doing GREAT!!
Sorry about your fall, but the first of many worries for Mom and Dad. Don't worry Joy, they will live through it. Parents have a way of 'losing it' now and again. You and Grace are giving them some wonderful memories. Love from
