A Night at the Lake

What a night at the Lake!

One of our friends (Kendra) was having a birthday and her sister ((Krista (Darcie's sister-in-law)) threw a surprise birthday party! It could not have been any better weather. Perfect temp, no wind, just a very, very light breeze off the lake, and sunshine! It was a lot of fun.

Grace loved the slide (of course) and the sand, oh did she love the sand. Not that I can't blame her, we have some of the best sand in the world right here on lake Michigan, well at least around these parts.

Here Grace is digging and playing in the sand. I asked her to look at me and smile and she did, but as you can see, it is quite cheesy.

Here is mommy and Joy. What a cute couple of girls! Joy is such a good baby, she didn't let us stay until the sunset, but it was close.

We had such a fun time as a family. It is so nice having such a great park right on the beach just minutes (even walking distance) from our house. We are really spoiled here in Michigan in the summer. I have never lived anywhere else that has as great of a backdrop for a fun summer! Of course the water is still a bit chilled (60 degrees...ooooo), but soon it will surely warm up.

We were close to seeing a beautiful sunset, oh so close..........but parenthood comes first. Nevertheless, it was a beautiful setting.

Grace and Joy were being so good as we were packing up to get these girls in bed, here comes mommy in the background.

And a bonus feature this week! A video of Grace coming down the slide!

All in all, it was a great evening. We wish we could have more evenings like this, and I hope God will include picturesque sunsets by a lake like this in heaven. Of course that lake would be so pure you could just go out there and drink it all in. Anyway, hope everyone else had a great evening. Love, the J 4.

Hopefully you'll be able to enjoy more wonderful nights like last night. If you and Darc ever want to watch the sunset just give me a call and I would love to babysit! See ya later!

This is pretty cool. It looks like you had a wonderful time at the park. Grace is getting so big. The video of her dancing is funny I must say. You have some great family pictures, too. Love you guys and take care.
